SES Engineering Services (SES) completed a £7.4m mechanical and electrical (M&E) contract to deliver a new flagship building for bet365 – the world’s largest online gambling company.
Located in Stoke-on-Trent, the new three-storey office block houses a 24/7 call centre and up to 2,500 staff.
Given the client’s round-the-clock online operations, the provision of a highly resilient electrical infrastructure was crucial and SES’ work included the installation of two Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) rooms to guarantee power in the event of any supply failures. The integrity of the services infrastructure was critical for the client for their round-the-clock electricity supply.
With 24-hour energy resilience a major priority on the project, SES also installed 370 solar panels, which will generate approximately 71,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, a huge sustainability boost.
Working in partnership with SISK, SES provided full M&E services and delivered a best-in-class office building which combines sustainable energy production and Uninterruptible Power Supplies.
With more than 2,000 lights and 60,000 metres of cable required in the electrical installations, the use of the latest digital engineering practices and SES’ leading Building Information Modelling (BIM) system was essential to ensuring the effective co-ordination and fit of the various design elements.
As the first UK MEP contractor to achieve BRE BIM Level 2 Business Certification, SES is leading the way in emerging digital engineering practices and this really made a difference in delivering this complex technical project.
