Completed in December 2018, Akzo Nobel, one of the largest private sector employers in the north east, is the proud owner of a world-leading research and testing centre for its paint and coatings division in Gateshead.
SES was pleased to be appointed to work closely with construction, infrastructure and support services company Robertson CE on this important project, with responsibility for mechanical and electrical services, with the delivery of a new cryogenic facility, warehouse and protective coatings applications and testing laboratory. The refurbishment of the existing Expert Capability Group (ECG) building also formed part of SES’ remit.
SES was chosen for this project because of its proven expertise in working successfully on live sites such as this, where 950 people work daily; SES’ approach has synergy with Akzo Nobel’s process-driven manufacturing methods.
“Working alongside SES, which is a leader in building services engineering, gave me the greatest of confidence and we have enjoyed working with them on this new state-of-the-art facility to create capacity for future expansion.”
