SES worked alongside Canary Wharf Contractors (CWC) to deliver shell and core mechanical services to the 27 floors of the One Bank Street banking and office building, as well as the associated underground car park and plant areas.
SES’ market-leading digital engineering expertise was fundamental in delivering this BIM Level 2 project successfully using the latest Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology.
SES was the lead co-ordinator for the main mechanical plant rooms including associated floors and provided converted consultant models to all other trade contractors, working closely with CWC to fulfil the BIM requirements on the project.
SES utilised its engineering expertise and offsite manufacturing facility, Prism to design and deliver nearly 100 bespoke HEX units in addition to pumps skids and prefabricated pipework for the Bank Street project.
On a confined high-rise city centre site, the time and cost saving initiatives delivered by SES through BIM and its use of offsite were critical.
Steve Joyce, SES’ Managing Director commented:
“Offsite manufacturing with Prism has been a part of SES’ strategy for over a decade and is a consideration in every project we work on. We can offer the most effective solutions to even the most technically complex projects, adding value to our clients. We’re delighted to have been able to demonstrate this again with the completion of the Bank Street project.”
The project represents a major milestone for SES’ London and South East operation and is testament to the company’s reputation for delivering innovation, cost and time saving offsite manufacturing solutions on logistically challenging city-centre projects.
The One Bank Street project in Canary Wharf demonstrates SES’ expertise in delivering complex commercial and residential projects across the capital. Most recently, these have included projects at M7 in Stratford and Helical plc’s Barts Square redevelopment.
One Bank Street received an ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM rating, making it one of the most sustainable buildings in London.
