SES Engineering Services, the UK’s leading national engineering specialist, has announced its latest multi-million-pound contract wins, with an appointment to work on the construction of a new stadium and leisure complex in York and a state-of the-art custody suite in Lincoln.
Both contracts will be delivered from SES’ Yorkshire region and have a combined value circa £10.6m.
Working with main contractor Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd (Buckingham Group), SES has been appointed to provide a full range of mechanical and electrical services on the ambitious York Stadium Leisure Complex Project. Currently on site at Monks Cross, on the outskirts of the city, and only a stone’s throw from SES’ York office, the 8,000 all-seater stadium will become home to both York City Football Club and York City Knights Rugby League Club once construction completes in late spring 2019.
On this latest win, SES will provide a fast-track delivery to ensure the detailed programme of works is met. To achieve this successfully, the specialist contractor will manufacture 168 modules to cater for the main service routes at its dedicated offsite manufacturing facility, Prism, also based in York.
In Lincoln, SES is imminently due on site with an innovative tri-service, blue light sector facility, under construction for Lincolnshire County Council.
Procured under Scape Group’s national construction framework, Lincolnshire Emergency Services hub will bring together the region’s fire and rescue services, police force and ambulance services in a shared facility.
Working with Willmott Dixon, on behalf of the local authority, this latest blue sector contract marks the fifth custody suite SES has delivered with the main contractor. Earlier facilities include those in Sheffield, Barnsley and Blackpool as well as Grimsby, where SES also recently started on site.
Striking a delicate balance, SES will use its extensive experience in the blue light sector to maintain existing emergency services, while installing a full range of technically advanced building services in the new building to meet the needs of the three organisations residing under one roof.
