Based primarily in the Birmingham office, Dave will be responsible for securing high-profile, complex Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) engineering projects in strategic growth sectors including healthcare, manufacturing and education.
Having previously secured projects worth as much as £90 million in both the Public and Private sector, Dave brings a wealth of experience in all aspects of the bid process, from the initial estimating phase, through to bid management and the final delivery of tenders.
Dave has worked on a number of major ventures for companies such as Jaguar Land Rover, Birmingham Airport and BMW, along with large-scale, public works for the Ministry of Defence and the Department for Education.
His appointment follows SES’ recent hire of Lisa Beaman as Pre-Construction Manager, as the firm continues to strengthen its bid team and take advantage of the strong pipeline of new, technically complex builds across the Midlands and South West.
Steve Joyce, Managing Director, SES Engineering Services said:
“The Midlands and South West are fantastic locations for construction right now, and as a firm, we’re investing heavily to ensure we have the best foundations to make the most of new business opportunities in these regions.
“Dave has already displayed a strong track record of securing highly complex, technical M&E projects, which will support our strategic move into sectors such as healthcare and education.
“As we extend our footprint in the region, it’s essential that the bid team is driven by someone of Dave’s calibre and experience. It’s clear that working alongside names such as Jaguar Land Rover comes second nature to Dave, so it’s extremely exciting to see where he’ll help take the firm.”
Dave said:
“SES is known industry-wide for its market-leading delivery of innovative and technically challenging building services, and it’s a privilege to join as an integral part of its bid team in the Midlands and South West.
“As a region, there is an increasing demand for high profile and complex projects, as many big names are attracted by the cheaper costs of building. It really is a great time to be winning work in the Midlands and South West, and the opportunities are immense.
“I’ve already seen first-hand how SES is leading the way in terms of technology and innovation – something that nowadays is crucial right from the initial bid process through to completion. With a number of big projects on the horizon already, 2021 is looking like a hugely positive year for SES which I’m grateful to be a part of.”
SES Engineering Services has more than 50 years’ experience in delivering projects across the Midlands and South West. The firm’s recent works in the region include the £12.5m IAAPS project for the University of Bath and most recently completing enabling works at the University of Oxford where the former Tinbergen Building was demolished to make way for a new world-class education and research centre known as the Life and Mind Building.
